I built an AI-assisted executive briefing workflow that gathers updates from multiple sources, organizes the information by priority, and produces a concise briefing for leadership review. The goal was to reduce the time spent searching across messages and documents before meetings and make important decisions, risks, and follow-up easier to identify.
Executive updates often arrive in different places and formats, including email, documents, spreadsheets, and team messages.
When leadership has to read through each source separately before a meeting, preparation becomes repetitive and important decisions, blockers, or follow-up items can be harder to surface quickly.
I designed a repeatable AI-assisted workflow that collects relevant updates, summarizes the information, and organizes it into a structured executive brief.
The workflow separates what requires a decision from what is informational, identifies risks and deadlines, and highlights follow-up actions so leadership can review the most important information in one place.
1. Updates are collected
Relevant information is gathered from email, documents, spreadsheets, or team communications.
2. AI summarizes the source material
The content is reviewed and condensed into the main points that leadership needs to know.
3. Information is classified
The workflow separates updates into categories such as decisions needed, risks, deadlines, follow-up, and informational items.
4. Priorities are surfaced
Items requiring executive attention are placed first rather than being buried inside longer updates.
5. The executive brief is generated
The information is organized into one consistent briefing document for review before the meeting.
6. Follow-up is carried forward
Decisions and action items can be captured after the meeting and connected to the next reporting cycle.
ChatGPT / AI tools — summarization, synthesis, classification, and action-item extraction
Google Docs — executive briefing document
Gmail — source communication and updates
Google Sheets — structured status or action tracking where needed
Google Workspace — connected operating environment
Google Apps Script — optional automation for gathering or routing source information as the workflow develops
The workflow reduces the amount of time required to review updates across multiple sources before a leadership meeting.
It also creates a more consistent meeting-preparation process by surfacing decisions, risks, deadlines, and follow-up in a predictable format.
The larger value is shifting executive preparation from searching and reading to reviewing and deciding.
